  Esther Bechtel "the third daughter in the family, was born February 2nd, 1786. She was fifteen years of age when she came to Canada. On October 15th, 1808, she was married to Isaac, son of Isaac and Barbara (Reiff) Shantz. He was born April 23rd, 1783, and died December 12th, 1854. They resided near Berlin where she died July 14th, 1867. Their family consisted of eleven children". Eby, Ezra E. (1895).
