  Esther Shantz, "was born January 7th, 1823, and died September 16th, 1883. She was married to David Eshelman." Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character. Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. ____________________ ESHLEMAN. - On the 16th of September, in Waterloo county, Ont., Sister Esther, wife of David Eshleman, and daughter of Isaac and Esther Shantz, aged 60 years, 8 months and 9 days. Her affliction was palsy, of which she suffered three days, when, as we believe, she went asleep in Jesus. Buried at Latshaw's graveyard. Services were held a the house by Amos Cressman and at the meeting-house by Moses Bowman and Joseph Nahrgang. Herald of Truth - Volume XX, Number 21 - November 1, 1883, pages 332, 333
