- MRS. A. H. HELLER PASSES AWAY
Highly Respected Resident Succumbs After a Lingering Illness.
LIVED HERE 25 YEARS
Mrs. A. H. Heller, the beloved wife of Mr. Alton H. Heller of the city, passed away at her home Queen street north at 10 o'clock Monday night after an illness of about two and a half years' duration. Mrs. Heller was well known and greatly loved by a host of friends In Kitchener and her death will be learned with deep regret.
The deceased was born in South Easthope Township on a farm, near Stratford. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Otto, her maiden name being Mary Catherine Otto.
Over a year ago Mrs. Heller went Colorado owing to her failing health where she remained for a year returning to this city last March. Upon her return she felt quite improved but two months ago took a relapse and was compelled to take to her bed about six weeks ago. Everything known to medical science was done but Mrs. Heller gradually failed until the end. During her sickness she underwent considerable suffering all of which she bore patiently and with Christian fortitude. She was a woman of many fine traits of character her genial spirit endearing her to all with whom she came in contact. Her bereaved husband and family will have the sympathy of a wide circle friends in their present affliction.
The deceased was a faithful member of the Zion Evangelical Church and was always identified with every activity undertaken by the church in which she could participate. She was or many years President of the Missionary Society of the Church, which office she relinquished only when compelled to do so by failing health. For some years she was identified with the S. S. Home Department and in former years was a member of the choir. Mrs. Heller had been a resident of Kithener for a quarter of a century, her first husband, G. V. Oberholtzer, who passed away 18 years ago, being the founder of the Oberholtzer Shoe Company, now the Hydro City Shoe Company. On July 24th, Mrs. Heller would have been married to Mr Heller 10 years.
The deceased leaves to mourn her death. her bereaved husband, two daughters, Miss Florence Oberholtzer and Miss Albin Oberholtzer, one son Master Richard Heller, three sisters Mrs. J. Eldt, of. New Hamburg, Mrs Tenry Heipel of Clifford, Ont. and Mrs. John Weber, of Sebringville, Ont and three brothers Valentine, William and John Otto of South Easthope. The funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be private at the house. Services will then follow at Zion Evangelical Church and interment will be made at Mount Hope Cemetery.
