  William Kempthorne The death occurred at Washington on Saturday of William Kempthorne, in his 68th year, after an illness of some three weeks. Deceased had resided at Washington for about 29 years, prior to which time he had lived for many years in the Ayr district. He was a man of sterling character, who was much respected by a wide circle of friends and neighbors. His wife, whose maiden name was Isabella Patterson, predeceased him about one year ago. The following 3 daughters and 1 son survive: Mrs. Leslie Baker, Detroit, Mrs. Floyd Smith, Cainsville; and Miss Jean and Murray, at home. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon to the Ayr Cemetery. The Ayr News May 26 1927 pg 1
