  Sandra passed peacefully surrounded by family and caregivers on Wednesday at her residence, Nithview Community, New Hamburg. Survived by her sister Jane Leis (Bruce) of New Hamburg. Special aunt of Derek Leis (Danielle) of Woodstock, and Carrie Leskew (Steve) of Minesing, Ontario. "Huggy Bear" to John, Meia, Ava and Adalyn. Predeceased by her Mom and Dad, Ivy and Louis Mohr. Also remembered by a number of aunts, an uncle and many cousins. Sandra faced her challenges in life head on and did not let Downs Syndrome hold her back. Bowling, swimming, t-ball, Special Olympics, Friendship Club and even horseback riding kept Sandra busy. Sandra worked in the kitchen at Nithview Community, New Hamburg for many years and then volunteered at the New Hamburg Thrift Store for eight years, keeping the other volunteers entertained with her stories and antics. She made many lifelong friends and if you met her, you were likely her "favourite person" or may have been adopted as her "cousin". Sandra was supported for many years by the wonderful staff of Aldaview Services, New Hamburg and found new independence with a move to Riehl Group Home in 2011 and then to Suite 22, Nithview Community where she spent her last two years, supported by her amazing caregivers and her loving Aldaview family of Steve, Rodney and Dianne. Sandra received excellent loving care from the Paramed staff who became like family. Sandra attended church at Nithview and formerly attended at New Hamburg Fellowship Bible Church. Family and friends were received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Friday November 4, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A family interment took place on Saturday November 5, 2016 prior to the funeral service at Rushes Cemetery, Wellesley Township. The celebration of Sandra's life was held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Sheri Martin Carmen officiating.
