    • Mary Biehn, " was born April 24th, 1800, being the first white child born in Waterloo County. In September, 1819, she was married to John Philip Saltzberger who was born June 21st, 1780, and died December 29th, 1860. She died September 29th, 1888. To them were born six children, namely: V Abraham, V Elizabeth, V Jacob, V Samuel, V Christian, and V Aaron."

      SALSBERGER. - On the 5th of October, in Strasburg, Waterloo Co., Ontario, of the infirmities of old age, Sister Salsberger, widow of Philip Salsberger, aged 88 years. Her father, John Biehn, was the original settler on what is now known as the Doon property, where deseased* was born in 1801. She was a widow for twenty-seven years, and had been in poor health a long time. Her remains were consigned to the grave on the 8th at Weaver" church. Funeral services by Daniel Wismer and Noah Stauffer.
