- SCHWARTZENTRUBER, Nyle
After a full life, Nyle passed away peacefully at Grand River Freeport Hospital on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Jean (Jackson) for 67 years, loving father of Brenda Thom and her husband Bob, proud papa of Lana Thom and fiancé Dave Bartlett and Chris Thom and his wife Deb.
Nyle was born in Baden the 3rd oldest of 14 children of the late Simon and Laura (Jutzi) Schwartzentruber. He is survived by his brother; Wayne (Debbie) of London; and his sisters Leona Lichty of Monetville; Reta (Vern) Baker of Meaford; Ruth (Bob) Boettger of Kitchener; Arlene (Greg) Naumann of Baden; sisters-in-law Noella of Sudbury; Janet of Vancouver, Pauline of Heidelberg, brother-in-law Warden Jackson of Manitoba; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by brothers Ray, Glen, Simon Jr., Elverne, Clare, Arthur, sisters Ellen (Messner) and Erma (Tucker); and in-laws Noah Lichty, Roy Tucker, Glen Cole, Andy King, Joan Schwartzentruber, Gale Stewart, Mary King, and Teresa Jackson.
Nyle retired from The Canadian Blower and Forge with more than 40 years of service. He was an excellent handy man able to fix almost anything. He enjoyed his fishing trips up north, snowmobiling and working on cars, but his love was for family.
Nyle's family will receive relatives and friends at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Tuesday, July 25, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Wilmot Mennonite Church, 2995 Bleams Rd., on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Susan Alison Jones officiating. Interment at Wilmot Mennonite Church Cemetery. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Society or the Wilmot Mennonite Church and would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home). www.markjutzifuneralhomes.ca
