• Notes

  Samuel Wait, ws born in Vermont in 1798, and came to Canada at c. age 20, settling in Bertie twp. In 1836, he moved to Dumfries, settling near the village of St. George. Then, in 1851, he moved to the village of Berlin. About 3 months before he died, he was moved in his bed to the village of Durham, where he died, Jan. 31, 1866, in his 67th year.
