_______________
STRICKEN WHILE IN HIS BUGGY
Dr. Husband, a Beloved Physician, Was Suddenly Called
Had Gone on Business to Water- down and Was Starting Back
Apoplexy Seized Him and He Fell Lifeless From His Rig
It was with pained surprise that the announcement of the very sudden death at Waterdown yesterday afternoon of Dr. George E. Husband was received in the city. Dr. Husband owns a large farm at Waterdown and for some time past he and his neighbors have been having trouble with the county council over a drain in that neighborhood. Some days ago the council agreed to send a deputation out to look over the ground, and yesterday was selected for the trip and inspection, and Dr. Husband's neighbors at Waterdown requested that he be present. He accordingly took an early lunch and then drove out to Waterdown, where the conference, which passed off pleasantly, was held. Dr. Husband had just seated himself in his buggy and placed the robe about him, and had not gone more than ten or fifteen feet when he fell from the rig. Those who were nearest him ran to his aid, but he was unable to speak or tell them what was wrong. Dr. McClenahan has was called, but was unable to do anything to save his life, as he had died almost instantly.
George Edmund Husband was born in Nelson township and spent his earlier life on the farm. After leaving the township schools he took up the arts course in the Victoria college, from which he graduated. He then took up the study of medicine, and after graduating, practiced his profession for about fifteen years in Galt. In 1874 Dr. Husband came to Hamilton and has has been a a resident of the city ever since. Although of a retiring disposition, he made many friends, and it was with extreme regret on the part of all classes of citizens that the announcement of him death was received.
Deceased was a member of Central Presbyterian church, the Masonic fraternity, the 1.O.F., and the R. T. of T. His death, it is thought, was due to apoplexy.
Besides his wife, deceased is survived by two sons, Dr. George L. Husband, Niagara Falls, and Bright Husband, at home. He also leaves two brothers. Dr. R. J. Husband, of this city, and William, of Sault Ste Marie, and two sisters, Mrs. Garboit, of this city, and Mrs.. De Cew, of Rochester. The funeral will take place at. 10 o'clock Tuesday morning from his late residence, 119 Main street west. The remains will be sent
by the 11.20 G.T.R. train to Niagara Falls for interment in Drummond Hill cemetery.
