  Death of an Old Resident of North Dumfries Intelligence has reached us of the death at the residence of her son, Walter, near Neepawa, Manitoba, on the 6th inst., of Mrs. Robert Brydon, widow of the late Robert Brydon, West River Road, North Dumfries. The deceased lady will be well remembered here. She was a sister of Mr. Walter Armstrong, of Cemetery street, Galt, and came to Canada in 1841. With her husband, they were almost the earliest settlers in North Dumfries. Mrs. Brydon went to Manitoba to join her sons in 1877, and has since resided there, passing the evening of her life in the comfort so amply provided for her by her sons. Of her family there are living in Manitoba, Messrs. Francis, Robert, John and James, prominent and successful farmers of near Portage La Prairie, Messrs. Walter and George of near Neepawa, and Mrs. John Hunter. Of her sons only Mr. Wm. Brydon now resides in Galt. Mrs. Brydon was in her 77th year. She leaves many friends here who will long remember her as one who discharged the duties of her life well and truly. Galt Reporter Nov 22 1889 pg 1
