Notes |
- Death of Richard Bean.
The death of Mr. Richard Bean which occurred at his residence, 115 Nelson St., Brantford, on Thursday, April 19th, removes a citizen whose passing away caused profound regret and sorrow among a large number of Brantford people but most particularly among those who were more in timately aquainted with him. The late Mr. Bean was born in Wilmot Township, Waterloo County, and lived: there until 20 years ago when he moved to Brantford, where he entered the employ of the Waterous Engine Co., and with which firm he remained until about four years ago, proving him self a most efficient and valuable employee. On account of failing health he was forced to retire. He was then employed as church officer of Zion Presbyterian church. Of an ever cheerful manner, he endeavored to please at all times, and his loss is keenly felt by every member of the congregation. For the past six months he had been unable to attend to his duties, but his health seemed to improve. The announcement of his death came as a surprise and shock to all acquaintances and friends. In addition to his sorrowing widow, he leaves to mourn his loss his aged mother Mrs. Menno Bean of New Hamburg, and two brothers, Jacob of Green Bay, Wise., and William of Prince Albert, Sask., and one sister, Mrs. Andrew Murray of Innerkip. The funeral which was held on Saturday afternoon, was largely attended, Rev. G. A. Woodside, conducting the services. Those in attendance from out of town were, Mrs. Menno Bean, New Hamburg, Rev. J. R. and Mrs. Hall of Sarnia, Dr. J. W. and Mrs. Orr of Stratford and Miss Grace Muirhead of Toronto.
