  In North Dumfries, on Thursday morning, 9th inst., at 8 o'clock, Adam Bruce, aged 78 years. Funeral, tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon, at 2 o'clock, from the residence of Wm. Sudden, Sprague's Road, to Galt Cemetery. Galt Reporter Aug 10 1883 pg 1 ___________________________ Sudden Death - Mr. Adam Bruce, a very old and respected resident of North Dumfries, died suddenly yesterday, Thursday morning. For some time, he has resided with Mr. Wm. Sudden, Sprague's Road, and early yesterday morning was heard moving in his room and appeared then in his usual health. Not getting up to breakfast Mr. Sudden went to see what as the matter, when he found Mr. Bruce lying in bed quite dead, having apparently expired but a short time before. His death is attributed to disease of the heart, from which it is known he has been a sufferer for years. Mr. Bruce was a very quiet, inoffensive man, and had many friends in this neighborhood.
