- MCKELLAR, DUNCAN
In the Gore of Puslinch, on the 18th of November 1864 at 5 a. m. , of dropsy, farmer, aged 60 years. A native of Kilmartin, Argyleshire, Scotland. Mr. McKellar was one of the oldest settlers in this section of the country, having resided for thirty-three years on the farm on which he died. He was universally respected.
-Information from The McKellar Family by Jean Barbara Harnick: Duncan McKellar (1804-Nov. 18, 1864) and his wife, Janet Campbell arrived in Canada in 1832. They settled on lot 2, rear of the Gore, Puslinch. Children were Alexander, William, Duncan, Matilda (b. 1839) and Archibald (b. 1843). Brothers of Duncan were Archibald (1807-1865) and Angus (1815-1886).
-Alexander McKeller: On the 15th of April 1866, at the manse in Kirkmichael, Perthshire, Scotland, Rev. McKellar, aged 68 years. Brother to the late D. McKellar of Puslinch.
