- THOMAS BARKER
A resident of Galt for the past 44 years Thomas Barker died Wednesday at his home 22 Elmwood Ave. The late, Mr. Barker was born Sept. 24, 1887 at Holywell, County Flint, Wales, son of the late Robert Barker and Elizabeth Griffiths Barker. He came to Galt in 1920 and retired some years ago from Galt Metal Industries. Mr. Barker served overseas in World War One with the Royal Canadian Army Corps. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Galt Branch 121 and a member of the Red Cross Branch, of Senior Citizens. Surviving are his wife the former Clara Greenhalgh and a nephew John Lockett, England. Resting at the funeral home of Coutts and Son, 96 St. Andrews St., for service Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Mount View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Red Cross Society. A memorial service by the Royal Canadian Legion will be held Friday evening at the funeral home, at 7: 30 o'clock.
