- REIST, Cora Amelia (nee Yantz) Cora Amelia Reist passed away on December 25, 2011 at Lanark Place Retirement Home in her 102nd year. Lovingly remembered by her children, Clayton, Leonard (Marcy) and David (Wilma) all of Kitchener, and brother Harry Yantz of Waterloo. Predeceased by her husband, Clayton Jacob Reist, in 1969, parents, William and Elsie Yantz, brothers, Wilfred, Alfred and Arthur and sisters Bernice Wilkens, Edith Stoskopf, and Viola Stricker, daughter-in-law Patricia (nee Ribey) and by two great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her grand-children, Kevin Reist, Kristine Hadland (Dale), Kathleen Milhousen (Larry), Cheryl Reist (Judy), Deborah Olmstead (Jack), John Reist, Richard Reist, Rhonda Reist and Joy-Elaine Chenier (Phil), by her twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. "Nana," as she was referred to by most, loved life and her family. She loved quilting and crocheting, reading, watching curling on TV, baking, playing euchre and tile rummy and spending time with friends and family. Cora was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Kitchener. A special thanks to the staff of Lanark Place for their loving care during Cora's four month residence at the home. The Reist family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West, Kitchener. A funeral service celebrating Cora's life will take place in the funeral home chapel on Friday morning at 10: 30 a.m. with Rev. Nancy Kelly officiating. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. A reception will follow at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. For those who wish, memorial donations to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or a charity of one's choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
