  Mayer.- William, son of Moses and Rachel (Lichti) Mayer, was born at St. Agatha, Ont., May 15, 1917; died of a heart attack at Kitchener, Ont., Oct. 23, 1985; aged 68 y. On Feb. 27, 1945, he was married to Ruth Gingerich, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons (Don and Joe), one daughter (Sharon Mayer), 2 grandchildren, 3 sisters (Elmina-Mrs. Gerry Wismer, Adeline-Mrs. Simon Gingerich, and Viola-Mrs. Bill Gingerich), and one brother (Clarence). He was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Oct. 26, in charge of Fred Lichti and Elmer Schwartzentruber; interment in Steinmann Church Cemetery. Gospel Herald - Volume 78, Number 74 - November 19, 1985, page 818 ____________________ MAYER, William (Bill) -- Suddenly, on Wednesday, Oct 23, 1985, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Bill Mayer, of RR 1, New Hamburg, age 68 years. He was born in St. Agatha, son of the late Moses Mayer and the former Rachael Lichti. He was a member of the Steinman Mennonite Church, RR 2 Baden. Bill enjoyed children and was father to 52 foster boys over a 14 year period. Beloved husband of Ruth Gingerich, whom he married February 27, 1945. Lovingly remembered by his children, Don of RR 1, New Hamburg, Joe and his wife Barbara of RR 2, New Hamburg and Sharon of Waterloo. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Jeff and Andrea. Dear brother of Clarence, Mrs. Adeline Gingerich, both of Lowville, N.Y., Mrs. Elmina Wismer of New Hamburg, Viola (Mrs. Bill Gingerich) of Kitchener. He was predeceased by four brothers, Elmer, Allan, Edgar, and Aaron. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, after 7 p.m. this evening, until Saturday at noon, when transfer will be made to Steinman Mennonite Church, for service at 2: 30 o'clock, with Rev.
