PRESTON - A former Preston resident, John Harris, 70, died last Friday at his home at St. Clair Shores, following a lengthy illness. As a resident of Preston, he was employed at the old Car and Coach, leaving here 30 years ago to make his home at St. Clair Shores. A retired interior decorator, Mr. Harris was a veteran of the First World War, serving with the Canadian Army. Particularly interested in the Red Cross, he was also active in many other civic activities. When he made his home in Preston he was keenly interested in sports and played football with the Car and Coach teams, and bowled with the Irish Canadians. Surviving are his wife, Alice, three sons, Alex, John W. and Kenneth; two daughters, Mrs. Lorin McKee and Mrs. Niles Golhart; five grandchildren and a brother, Alex Harris of Niagara Falls, formerly of Preston.
