  Mae Margaret Schildroth (nee Binkle) died suddenly from natural causes on June 8, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener. She died peacefully, with her family at her side. Mae was born in Hanover, Ontario in 1919. Soon afterwards, her family moved to Kitchener. Mae married Lester John Schildroth in 1941, and they were together until his death in 2006. They were married for 65 years. For most of her adult life, Mae was an active member of Zion United Church and served as a member of the Women's Auxiliary. She also taught Junior Sunday School for many years. In addition to her church involvements, Mae served as a volunteer at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital as well as at the Rockway Senior Centre. After her children had grown up, Mae took a sales position at Ostrander's Jewellers in Kitchener, where she worked for many years. During this period, she received her certification as a gemologist. She is predeceased by her husband, Lester John Schildroth; son, John William Schildroth; father, Charles Binkle; mother, Christine Elizabeth Binkle; brothers, Bernard, Norman and Gerald; and sisters, Janice, Lola and Della.
