- Douglas Weber Haller 1922-2006 (Always the humble gentleman that everyone loved) Passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving wife, Marion (nee Grant), Thursday, October 12, 2006. He was a gentleman and a gentle man, wonderful husband, loving father, and grandfather who was always so kind, caring, and spoke well of everyone. He was retired for 16 years after a career in dentistry and also an associate teacher at the faculty of Dentistry in Toronto. After serving his country in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War, he became Captain with the Royal Highland Fusiliers, where his devotion extended to his latter years. He will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Diane and her husband Robb Brohman, and Linda and her husband David Phillips, his five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, William and Laurine (nee Fatum) and his brother Harold (Sonny). To honour Douglas' wishes, he has been cremated and no formal funeral service will be held. A private family interment will take place. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, if desired. Arrangements are entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visit www.henrywalser.com for Douglas' memorial.
