    • FORWELL, Joseph J. - At his residence, on Thursday, March 16, 2006, after a brief illness, Joseph John Forwell, aged 83. Loving husband to the former Carolyn Dowling; dear father to Shirley and her husband Ken Brooks of Windsor, Bonnie Currie of Waterloo, Dr. Joanna Forwell of Seattle and Steve McCathie and his wife Patricia of Waterloo; brother to Ken and his wife Elizabeth and Ruth and her husband Gerald Schnarr, all of Waterloo, Ed and his wife Betty Jane and Leo and his wife Stella, all of Kitchener and Madeline Dietrich of Elmira; brother-in-law to Mary of Waterloo, Margaret of Kitchener and June of Detroit; grandpa to Joline, Kari, Tyler, Ian and Taylor and great-grandpa to Wyatt. Predeceased by his parents, Leo Forwell and Mary Blay; six brothers, Roland, Raymond, Walter, Donald, Arthur and Norbert; three sisters, Margaret, Catherine Hess-Denomme and Anna Marie Nafzinger. Joe was a member of St. Michael's Church and had owned and operated Forwell's Super Variety for 46 years, a member of the Waterloo Knights of Columbus and had served overseas in the Second World War with the R.C.A.F. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W. Kitchener, today (Saturday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where parish prayers will be recited at 7: 30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Monday from St. Michael's Church at 11 a.m. with Father James Malone officiating. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Parkinson Society or the Carmel of St. Joseph as expressions of sympathy through the funeral home or online ratzbechtelfuneralhome.com.
