    • JUNKER, Gordon George - Passed away on Monday, March 13, 2006, at his residence The Maples Home for Seniors, Tavistock. Gordon was formerly of New Hamburg. He was born 90 years ago in East Zorra Township on April 11, 1915 a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Hesse) Junker. Gordon had been a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, East Zorra Township and was affiliated with Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hamburg. He was a charter member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 532, New Hamburg; had served overseas during World War Two with the Canadian Army in the Canadian Ambulance Corps in both England and Holland; and was an avid fisherman. Dear brother of Margaret Zoeller of New Hamburg and brother-in-law of Catherine Junker of Grand Bend and Jessie Junker of New Hamburg. Also remembered by a number of nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by brothers and sisters Louis and Rachel Junker, David Junker, Hilda and Jack Vance, Edgar Junker and by brother-in-law Carl Zoeller. Friends and relatives may call at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Wednesday (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Helen Toman officiating. Burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to The Legion Scholarship Fund. A Memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday (tonight) at 7 p.m. under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 532, New Hamburg.
