    • EDWARD "TED" SAUNDERS 1921 - 2006 At K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Ted died on Sunday, April 30, 2006, at the age of 85 years. Beloved husband of Phyllis (LeRiche), who predeceased him April 17, 2000. Dear father of Rick Saunders and his wife Barb of Kitchener, Nancy and her husband Pat Cardillo of Waterloo, Ward Saunders and his wife Judy of Burlington and Dave Saunders and his wife Maryse of St. Lambert, Quebec. He will be lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren, Nicholas, Lee, Brad, Jeff, Tara, Matt, Dan, Andrew and Erin. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Mac and sisters, Dorothy and Ruby. Ted was retired from the sales department at Uniroyal where he had worked for over 40 years. An avid golfer and walker, he was a member of the Westmount Golf and Country Club. A service to celebrate Ted's life will be held at The Church of the Holy Saviour, 33 Allen Street East, Waterloo, on Monday, May 8, 2006, at 11 a.m., with The Venerable Canon Peter T. Townshend officiating. Cremation has taken place, with interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Immediately following the service, friends and relatives are invited to remain at the church for refreshments and a time to visit with the family. In memory of Ted, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and can be arranged through the funeral home. Beloved husband of 54 years of Beverley Slough (nee Purnell); father of Gary (Marilyn), Kevin (Susan) and Pat (Doug Findlay); grandfather of Jamie, Jessica, Andy, Brianna, Scott, Kate and Brian; brother of Cyril Slough (the late Mary) and Brendan Slough (Rose). Fondly remembered by many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Raised in Saskatoon, graduated University of Saskatchewan, served in the Navy, Second World War and had a long career at Dupont of Canada until his retirement. Service will be held at St. Louis Parish, Waterloo, Ontario on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 10 a.m Reception to follow in Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the foundation of your choice would be appreciated.
