Notes - ADA WHITE 1915 - 2006 Passed away in her 91st year, on April 27, 2006, at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, after a long and full life. Predeceased by her loving husband Doug in 1999. Dear mother of Valerie Simpson and her husband Philip of St. George, Stephen and his wife Mary of Gananoque, and Jennifer Amirault and her husband Norm of Peterborough. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, John and Kate Simpson, Sarah and Julia White, and Heather, Stephen, and Robert Amirault. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Mabel Young; and her brother Melvin Young. Ada grew up in British Columbia where she taught school until the Second World War. She then served with the RCAF in Goose Bay, Labrador, and the YMCA in England, where she met Doug. After her marriage, she was a longtime community volunteer, curler, and bridge player. Beloved Wife, Mother, and Nana, she was feisty to the end. In keeping with Ada's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Ada's life will be held at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Saturday, April 29, 2006 (today) at 1: 30 p.m. Friends are invited immediately following the service to the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home for refreshments and a time to visit with the family. Donations in Ada's memory may be made to KidsAbility or the Grand River Hospital Foundation and can be arranged through the funeral home.
