- JOHN FERGUSON 1925 - 2006 Passed away at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at the age of 81 years. John served in the Navy during the Second World War. He was a member of Westmount Golf and Country Club and will be remembered as an avid sportsman. The many sports he loved to play included golf, hockey, football and lacrosse. John is survived by his beloved wife Jean, his daughter Shelley (Mike), two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his only son, William (Bill) Kerry Ferguson in 1994, and his brother Angus Ferguson. At John's request, no visitation or funeral service will be held. Cremation and a private graveside service will be held at Parkview Cemetery. In John's memory, donations may be made to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or to the Canadian Diabetes Association and can be arranged by calling the funeral home.
