    • JOHN (JACK) WHEELER 1921-2006 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John (Jack) Morris Wheeler at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at the age of 84. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Linseman); his son, Keith and wife Kathleen; daughters, Sandra Karges and husband Mike, Wendy Baetz and husband Darryl. Also survived by his sister, Inez Garibaldi. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Sheryl Lemon and husband Craig, Deborah Wheeler and Vince Strickland, Andrew Karges and wife Melissa, Daniel Wheeler, Jill Whittrick and husband Mark, Angela Skipp and husband Paul and four great-grandchildren, Emily, Liam, Evan and Rachael. Predeceased by his parents, William and Geneva Wheeler (Mihm). Jack served his country in the Second World War in Europe from 1944 to 1946. He worked at the Canadian Blower & Forge for 13 years until he and his father established Wheeler Machine Shop in 1950. His retirement years were devoted to his much loved hobby of antique cars, which gave him a great deal of satisfaction and many good friends. He always enjoyed a challenge and loved when one of his friends would present him with an antique car problem to solve. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, successful businessman and generous friend. The family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday, June 29, 2006 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Parish Prayers will be held at 8: 30 p.m. The mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Jack's life will be held at St. Michael RC Church, 240 Hemlock St. at University Ave., Waterloo, on Friday, June 30, 2006 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Malone as celebrant. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo, followed by a reception at St. Michael's parish hall. As expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of K-W and may be arranged by contacting the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Szozda and his staff, Dr. Ward and all the caring staff at Grand River Cancer Centre and Dr. Williamson and his staff at Freeport Health Centre.
