- MARUSZEWSKI, Stanislaw - With his family by his side, passed away peacefully on August 27th, 2008, at Victoria Hospital, London, at 91 years of age. After a recent struggle with cancer, Stanislaw is now resting at peace. Stanislaw was born in Zochy, Poland in 1917. He was a long time member of Sacred Heart Church, Kitchener as well as a proud Second World War veteran in the Polish Army. After his service in the Second World War, he immigrated to Canada in 1946 where he eventually settled in Cambridge (Preston), and has been a proud member of the Kitchener-Waterloo area for the past 60 years. Devoted husband to the Late Antonina Maruszewski. Father of Ted Maruszewski, of London. Brother of Czeslaw Zochowski and other relatives in Poland. He is predeceased by one sister, Helena Maruszewski. Friends and relatives are welcome to visit at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home (51 Benton Street), Kitchener, on Tuesday, September 2, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Prayers will take place on Tuesday at 7: 30 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Church (66 Shanley Street), Kitchener on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the doctors and nurses who cared for Stanislaw during his illness. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society can be made by calling the funeral home at 519-742-4481. You will live in our hearts forever! God Bless you Dad.
