Born in Berlin, Ontario, he was the beloved husband of Reta (Baird) for 60 years; predeceased by his daughter, Connie Carey-Bianco (Don); loving father of Kevin (Leslie), Colette (Steve) and Keith-John (Anita). A cherished "Grandpa" of Andrew, Alicia, Christopher, Amanda, Nathan, Melissa, Alexandra, Catharina and Samuel. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Mary; siblings, Collette, Gerard (Red) Agnes, Veronica, Anna, Patrick Francis (Bud), Gerald and survived by sister, Marcella Eby (Ronnie). In addition to his family, which he considered his greatest accomplishment, he was a proud Royal Canadian Regiment, veteran of the Second World War, First Division. He served in Sicily, Italy and North Africa. In 2005, he was honoured having received recognition for his service as a Canadian veteran by the governments of the Netherlands and Italy. Vincent was a longtime Hamilton merchant, owner and operator of Wunder Furniture Co. Ltd., and co-owner of Interiors by Wunder, his career in retail spanned well over 60 years beginning before the war in Kitchener, Ontario. Retiring at age 87, his work ethic was inspirational. Vincent's zest for life, witty sense of humour, strong family values and virtues will carry on as his legacy and he will live forever in our hearts. Heartfelt thank you for conscientious health care provided by the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph Hospital, and Community Care Access Centre, Bayshore nursing; especially to Cindy C., Cindy M. and Pamela for their personal attention. Visiting will be held at the Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East in Hamilton on Wednesday (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil Wednesday at 7: 30 p.m. As a member of St. Eugene's Parish for more than 50 years, his Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 11 a.m. (cremation to follow.)
