Notes - FLAHERTY, James "Jim" - Suddenly, at Grand River Hospital on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the age of 83 years. Beloved husband of Marjorie of Kitchener. Loving father of Jacki and her husband Chet of Innisfil, Kellie and her husband Glenn of Kitchener, Wayne and his wife Susan, and Jim and his wife Laurie, all of Winnipeg. Survived by his sisters, Margaret, Rene and Jean and by his brother, Stan. Cherished grandfather of Michael, Jennifer, Carrie, Laura and Shannon. Special Papa to Mitchell and Toni. Loved great-grandfather to Abigail and Ryan. Jim had served in the Second World War and in the armed forces for 30 years. Jim worked for Canada Post for many years and is now a member of the Canadian Legion. Friends and relatives were invited to share their memories of Jim at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, (519-745-9495), 621 King St. West, Kitchener Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a celebration of life in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 24, 2008 (today) at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. Online condolences can be made by visiting www.MeM.com.
