    • DICKSON, Ross H. - Ross passed away peacefully, on Friday, September 5, 2008 at Leisureworld Care Centre, Elmira. Ross was 85 years old and resided in Kitchener for most of his life. Beloved husband of Mary (Brohman), recently celebrating 59 years of marriage. Dear father of David (Bonnie) of Toronto and Jeff (Cheryl) of West Montrose. Also lovingly remembered by his two grandsons, Matthew of Elmira and Elliott of Toronto. Brother of Elaine (Harold) Vogt of Kitchener, Norman (Joyce) of Wiarton and brother-in-law of Anne Dickson of Brantford. Fondly remembered by Nicole Dickson and Jean-Luc Stankowski of Ajax. Predeceased by his parents, Harvey and Caroline (Gibson); his brothers, Elgin (Valera), Gerald, Floyd (Ann); his sister-in-law, Mary Dickson and his grandson, Bradley Dickson. Ross was a veteran of the Second World War having served with the Lincoln-Welland Regiment in Belgium and Germany and was wounded in action. Ross was an avid walker, swimmer and skater and was a retiree of Uniroyal Textile Division with 37 years of service. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes St. W., Waterloo on Friday, September 12 at 10: 30 a.m. with Father Edward Sheridan officiating, followed by interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 8: 45 p.m. In his memory, donations to the Cardiac Fitness Association would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. Many thanks to Dr. Haberstroh and the staff and residents of Leisureworld for the excellent care and friendships extended to Ross.
