    • PINCHIN, George H. - Peacefully at Trinity Village Care Centre, Kitchener, on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, George Herbert Pinchin, in his 92nd year. George served his country in the Second World War with the Canadian Army as a sergeant (Radar) (R.C.E.M.E) in the South Pacific, was the Founder of Tend-R-Flesh Turkey Ltd., Petersburg, Ont. and a Retired International Consultant in Food and Poultry Processing. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and musician and an accomplished stone mason. Husband to the former Jean Wilson for 20 years; loving father to James and his wife Karen of RR 1 Severn Bridge, Janet and her husband Don Herald of Everett and Joan and her husband John Higginson of Peterborough; brother to Victor of Streetsville; devoted grandpa to Gregory Pinchin, Jordan and Marnie Herald and Julie and Matthew Higginson and two great-grandchildren, Thomas Higginson and Emma Pinchin. He also leaves his step-children, Cynthia and Mac Ballantyne and their children Evin and Carra and Diane and Kevin Carlisle and their children Catherine and Rob McKerlie. Predeceased by his beloved first wife, Ruth Lillian Harmer in 1988; his parents, James Pinchin and Gertrude Parker; a sister, Irene Price and two brothers, James and Robert. Friends called at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, Friday from 7-9 p.m. and may call today (Saturday) from 11 a.m. to service time which is at 1 p.m., the service will be in the chapel with Rev. Mark Lewis officiating. Reception to follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre and donations may be made to Trinity Village Foundation or the charity of one's choice as expressions of sympathy through the funeral home.
