    • HUBER, Irene Marie (nee Cronin) Died on Christmas Day, 2009, after a long and courageous struggle with Alzheimer's. Irene was born in a farmhouse on Jan. 15, 1923 in Carrick Township near Neustadt, Ontario. She was one of seven children born to Alphonsus and Elizabeth Cronin. At an early age, Irene began working and eventually moved to Kitchener. It was there that she met Lambert Huber shortly after he returned from service overseas in the Second World War. They were married in May 1950, and Lambert died on Jan. 1, 2000. They had six children - John of Kitchener, Janet (and Fred) Youngs of Oakville, Theresa (and Mike) Barlow of Waterloo, Dennis (and Carol) Huber of Waterloo, Stephen (and Theresa) Huber of Red Deer, Alberta and Donna (and Peter) Palvetzian of Kitchener. She is remembered by her 13 grandchildren - Kyle, Muriel and Nathan Youngs, Coulson and Jillian Barlow, Sarah, Scott, Jason and Caitlin Huber of Waterloo, Robyn and Melissa Huber of Red Deer, and Nicole and Ryan Palvetzian. Irene is also survived by her sister Mildred (and Leonard) Wettlaufer and her brother Nelson. Irene found life-long strength in her faith. She was a founding member of Blessed Sacrament Church and a long serving member of the Catholic Women`s League. Education was very important to our mother, and she was proud of her children`s many academic accomplishments. She has passed onto her children her tenacious spirit, fortitude, resourcefulness, and strength of character. Visitation will be held at the Westmount Funeral Chapel , 1001 Ottawa St., S. Kitchener on Monday, December 28, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 8: 30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament RC Church, 305 Laurentian Dr., Kitchener on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener and reception to follow at the church. As an expression of sympathy donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society by contacting the Funeral Home 519-743-8900.
