- Norman Alva Haist, retired Washington chicken rancher, died yesterday at his Scotts Valley home. He was 69. Haist moved to Scotts Valley four years ago from Auburn, Wash. He made has home at 900 Bethany drive. Haist was a native of Canada.
Survivors include his wife, Louella, Scotts Valley; two brothers, Amary Haist, Florida, and Oscar Haist, Detroit; four sisters, Cora Lee Haist, Hong Kong; Laura Haist, Vancouver, B.C., Idella Haist, North Burnaby, B.C., and Mrs. Dorothy Witty, Bolton, Ontario.
Final rites will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Irvin M. Smith and Sons chapel with Rev. L. T. Holdcroft officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Memorial park.
