    • STECKLE, Seleda - Peacefully, at Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich, on Sunday, January 4, 2009, Seleda Steckle (Shantz), of Zurich, passed away in her 101st year. She was predeceased by her husband, Dan; a granddaughter, Connie Steckle and a son-in-law, Colin Henderson. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her family, Bill and Betty Steckle (Varna), Paul and Kathy Steckle (Zurich), Esther Steckle (Bedford, Ohio), Ferne and Lloyd Mumaw (Dalton, Ohio), Jim and Carolyn Steckle (Petersburg), Mary Steckle and Gary Forshay (Halifax, N.S.) as well as eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Vera Shantz and Lillian Steckle and brother-in-law, Oliver Steckle and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Norman and Elmina (Weber) Shantz; siblings, Sylvia Shantz, Mahlon and Mary Shantz, Orval and Helen Shantz, Elam Shantz; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Simon Steckle, Menno and Philippa Steckle, Magdalena and Noah Gingerich, Allan and Mary Steckle, Hannah and John Smith, Celinda and Enos Martin, Rebecca Steckle, Mary and Joseph Martin, Gertie Steckle and Asa Steckle. Visitation in the J.M. McBeath Funeral Home , 49 Goshen N., Zurich, today (Monday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. in Zurich Mennonite Church, Zurich. Pastor Phil Wagler officiating. Interment Zurich Mennonite Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zurich Mennonite Church or the Bluewater Rest Home Building Fund. Condolence forwarded through www.jmmcbeathfuneral home.com A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Seleda Steckle.
