  THOMAS, George C. - Passed away peacefully, on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital, at the age of 86. Beloved husband and best friend of Shirley for 56 years. Cherished father of Laurie and Lois Thomas and husband Myron Steinmann; grandfather of Thomas and Matthew, all of London. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Lillie of England. George served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War and immigrated to Canada in 1947. At George's request, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army or Doctors Without Borders would be appreciated by the family (donations can be made by calling the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467).
