Notes - DALEY, Daniel Joseph Sr. - It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Daniel Joseph Daley Sr., on June 30, 2009 at the age of 84. Born on December 3, 1924 in Medford, Mass., Dan came to Canada in 1929. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943 and proudly served two years in the Second World War. Even in his final days at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Dan never failed to deliver the same humour and wit that characterized his life. Predeceased by parents, Maurice and Jessie Daley of Sturgeon, P.E.I. Brother to Lewis White of Redding, Mass. Loving husband of 56 years to Rita. Father of Daniel Daley Jr. (Jan), Laura Purdy (Bill), Judy O'Handley (Brian), Richard Daley (Judy), Terry Daley (Charmaine), Stephen Daley (Michelle) and Theresa Watson (Vic). Much adored grandfather of Laurie, Matthew, Steven, Sarah, Crystal, April, Mark, Mallory, Meagan, Tyler, Corey, Brendan, Michael, Krista, Jessica, Charlotte and Victoria. A proud member of Galt Legion Br. 121. A dedicated member and past Grand Knight of Galt Knights of Columbus Council 2184. As all of these things - a Canadian veteran, a husband, father and grandfather, he will always be remembered. Friends will be received at Little's Funeral Home , 223 Main St. E., Cambridge (519-612-1290) on Thursday, July 2, 2009, (today) 6-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose RC Church, Friday, July 3, 2009 at 3 p.m. As expressions of sympathy donations to Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation or St. Ambrose Organ Fund would be appreciated by the family.
