  FOGARTY, Douglas - The family announces the passing of Douglas Fogarty on Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late, Margaret (nee Macintosh) (1999). Devoted father of Gerald Fogarty and Robin (nee Fogarty) St. Jules. Survived by two brothers, John and Donald and two sisters, Jean and Alice. Predeceased by his siblings, Marie, Jim, Bernie and Howard. Mr. Fogarty was born in Canso, Nova Scotia. He was a Veteran of the Second World War serving on the Canadian Air Force and after 27 years of a long good career, retired from Joy Manufacturing. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home , 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 from 4 - 6 p.m. At Mr. Fogarty's request there will be no funeral service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Galt Branch 121 or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Tributes may be made online at www.mem.com.
