Notes - RUDOW, Bertha Rebecca - A veteran has died peacefully at Leisureworld Caregiving Centre in Elmira on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Weldon Rudow (1998). Loving mother of Alan Rudow of Cambridge and Betty Gliedt of Kitchener. Cherished grandmother of Kayleigh Gliedt, Travis Gliedt and his fiancée Lisa Funnell. Predeceased by her granddaughter, Trista Gliedt (2006); parents, Frank Jones and Lula Stothers; brother, Roy; sisters, Pauline and Donalda and by her niece, Linda. Bertha trained at K-W Hospital and was very proud to have served as a nursing sister in Europe for 2 years during the Second World War. Cremation has taken place. Bertha's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 from 1 p.m. until the time of Bertha's funeral service to celebrate her life, in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Reception immediately following. Memorial donations to MADD Waterloo Region or Waterloo Region Community Care Access Centre would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home). Visit www.henrywalser.com for Bertha's memorial.
