    • KROEKER, Henry - Peacefully, on Saturday, April 18, 2009, Henry passed away in his 91st year. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of over 58 years, Frieda; his children, Elizabeth (Paul) Campbell, Henry (Brenda) Kroeker; grandchildren, Ryan and Mariah Campbell, Christine Wilson, Christopher and Lindsay Munroe; and great-grandson, Cameron Wilson. He will also be missed by Robert Olsen, whom he thought of as a son; nieces and nephews, Mary (Eric) Wiebe, Jake (Elaine) Reimer, Annie (Vern) Wiens, Betty (John) Wiebe, Ben (Judy) Reimer, Paul (Marilyn) Reimer; sister-in-law, Annie Reimer. He leaves his cousin, Katie (Dietrich) Regier, Frieda's surviving siblings, Martha (Arno) Bartel, and Wally (Eleanor) Kroeker; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Also remembered by his best friend, Eric (Elsie) Dick of Hespeler. Predeceased by his daughter, Lenora Jean Munroe in 2001; brother-in-law, John Reimer; sister, Tina; and parents, Jacob and Anna Kroeker. Born in 1918 in Halbstadt, Russia as Henry Mierau, he was adopted at the age of four and immigrated to Canada in 1925 where he was raised in Hespeler with sister Tina. Henry served overseas with the Perth Regiment for over four years during the Second World War and was awarded several medals. He was also an active member of St. John's Ambulance and was decorated for his service. Cremation has taken place. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 2 p.m., at Trillium United Church (450 King St., East) in Preston. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, or Cambridge Memorial Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
