  Died in California We regret to state that word has been received of the death in Rio Vista, Solano County, California, on the 15th inst., of Mr. Elijah Burrow, an old Galt boy, and son of the late Mr. Richard Burrow. It is now some twenty-five years since the subject of this notice left Galt to seek his fortune in California. He was at that time known to almost every one in the town, and was universally liked for his manly, outspoken disposition. About thirteen years ago he paid his old friends in Galt a visit and, although the success he expected had not been achieved, he was full of hope that he would yet overcome fortune's frown, and be able some day to "strike it rich." Poor old friend! With the last clasp of his hand, as he bid the writer good-bye on his return from his visit we speak of, he said that he might expect his return "home" with his family before many years were past. His hopes, however, were never realized; and today it is our sad take to announce his death. Mr. Burrow was in the 44th year of his age at the time of his death, and we understand leaves a widow and six children to mourn his loss. He leaves several brothers and sisters in Ontario, among them Mr. John Burrow, of St. Catherine's, Mr. William Burrow, of Hamilton, Mrs. Nicholas Wilkins, of Galt, and Mrs. Hugh Kay, of Galt.
