  LACKENBAUER, Rose Isabel (nee Hammer) Passed away peacefully at Freeport Health Centre on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the age of 98 years. Rose is survived by her children, Jim (Joanne) Lackenbauer of Kitchener and Joan (Jerry) Schultz of Waterloo, grandchildren Bob (Sharon) Lackenbauer and Patrick Lackenbauer, Scott (Heather) Eagar and Heather Crechiola as well as great-grandchildren Margot, Camryn and Stacey Lackenbauer and Devon and Sarah Crechiola. Rose was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Leo and her grandson Christopher Lackenbauer. Born May 19, 1915 to John and Marion (nee Girodat) Hammer, Rose is the last surviving member of her generation of both the Lackenbauer and Hammer families. She was also predeceased by her brothers Bill, Edward, Jack and Peter, sisters Lavina, Margaret, Anne, Madeline, brothers-in-law Roy, Carl and Edgar and sister-in-law Helen. Friends are invited to share their memories of Rose with her family during a time of fellowship in the Fireside Reception Room of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. Cremation will have taken place and a private family graveside will take place at a later date at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff of Fergus Place and Trinity Village at Freeport for their exceptional care.
