Notes |
- RUMIG, Marie Catherine (nee Ditner) - God finally called Marie home on Sunday, July 5, 2009. Her pain and suffering from her illness ended and she went toward the light to be with the Lord her Savior. Marie was formerly a resident of St. Clements and wife of Joseph W. Rumig for 55 years. Loving, kind and caring mother of Vince Schweitzer and his wife Terry of Washago, Connie Cook and her husband Bud of Milverton, Gerri Naumann and her husband Frank of Waterloo, Regina Behling and her husband Rob of Arthur and Sherry Snider and her husband Randy of Crosshill. Dear sister-in-law of Loretta Ditner of Palmerston and Maria Ditner of Kitchener. She will be sadly missed by her Godchild, Theresa Rumig; her 16 grandchildren, Mike, Don, Jamie, Kevin, David, Shelley, Susan, Scott, Natalie, Jason, Tanya, Brittany, Justin, Jeremy, Matt and Caitlin, as well as her 12 great-grandchildren, will lovingly remember their Nana. Predeceased by her parents, Xavier Ditner and Regina Hoffarth; by three sisters, Clara, Anna and Florentine, and seven brothers, Edwin, John, Sylvester, Joseph, Carl, Anthony and Wilbert. Also predeceased by her beloved first husband, Private Emerson Schweitzer (1945). Marie was born on her parents small mixed farm in Wellesley Township. During her life she enjoyed living in the country, baking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Clement RC Church, a member of the Christian Mothers Society and played cards with the Golden Years Club. Before retirement, she worked at the University of Waterloo for 11 years. Friends and relatives are invited to share their memories of Marie with her family at the Futher-Franklin Funeral Home , 1172 Henry Street on Friday, July 10, 2009, from 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers at 8: 45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clement RC Church on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. Father R. Hurdle officiating. Interment to follow at St. Clement RC Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Leukemia Research Fund would be greatly appreciated. www.futher-franklinfuneralhome.com
