    • EDWIN BRENNEMAN

      Edwin Brenneman, 62, of R.R. 1, Tavistock, died at Stratford Hospital Tuesday. He had been a patient there since Sunday. Mr. Brenneman was a native of Waterloo County, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Brenneman. He retired from farming in East Zorra Township in 1960 and moved to the hamlet of Cassel. On June 15, 1927, he married the former Selma Schlegel, who survives. Mr. Brenneman was a member of the Cassel Mennonite Church, 17th line.

      He is also survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Brenneman, a missionary-teacher at Mussorie, India, and Mrs. Murray (Muriel) Poole, Stratford; one brother, Noah of New Hamburg, and three grandchildren. A son, a brother and a sister had predeceased him.

      The body was at the Robert Krug Funeral Home, Tavistock, last Thursday when removal was made to the East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th line, where a service was held conducted by Rev. Vernon Zehr. Burial followed in adjoining church cemetery.

      Brenneman, Edwin, son of Jacob and Mary (Steinman) Brenneman, was born Apr. 25, 1904; died at the Stratford General Hospital, Mar. 21, 1967; aged 62 y. 10 m. 24 d. On June 15, 1927, he was married to Selma Schlegel, who survives. He is also survived by 2 daughters (Mary Jane and Muriel--Mrs. Murray Poole). One son (Nile) predeceased him in 1956. He was a member of the Cassel Church. Funeral services were held at East Zorra, with Emerson McDowell and Vernon Zehr officiating.
