  Leona PADINGTON - Mrs. Leona Padington, 83, of the Queensway Retirement Home, Hensall, passed away, peacefully, at her residence, on Monday, Dec. 9, 2002.She was born on the family farm near Wellesley, October 7, 1919, a daughter of the late Moses and Mary (Steinman) Erb. Mrs. Padington has worked as a nursing assistant and later in the Wardrobe Department at the Festival Theatre for many years until her retirement. She was an active member for many years with St. John's Ambulance and was active with her church in Stratford, Shakespeare and Tobermory. She was a member of the Knox Church Mary and Martha, was a youth advisor for the Presbyterian Young Peoples Society and was active at the Presbytery Level with the Women's Missionary Society. Beloved wife of the late Earl Padington who predeceased her November 3, 1988. Loving mother of Myrann and husband Neal Nickles, Goderich; grandmother of Derek Nickles and wife Charlene, Ottawa, Jana and husband Marc Cousineau, Aylmer, Quebec, Andrea Nickles, Goderich; great-grandmother of Marieve and Timothy Cousineau; dear sister of Harold Erb and wife Violet, Wellesley, Milt Erb and wife Marjorie, Wellesley, Eva and husband Milt Kuepfer, Crosshill, Wilma and husband Norm Kuepfer, Linwood. Also survived by a sister-in-law, Annie Erb, Hampstead and many nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Alvin Erb. Family will receive friends at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford, on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Rev. James Perrie will officiate. Reception will follow. Private family burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Knox Presbyterian Church, Goderich - Parish Nursing Program through the funeral home. The Record Newspaper 11 Dec 2002
