  BENDER, Laurene - On Monday, November 20, 2006 at the E.R. Goudie Eventide Home, at the age of 72. Laurene (nee Yantzi), beloved wife of the late Vern Bender (1990). Loving mother of Gerald Bender (Catherine), Jim Bender (Terry) and Larry Bender (Karen Collins). Also loved by her grandchildren, Trisha Bothma (Rodney), Cheryl Townsend, Jacqueline Bender, Nicholas Smatavicius, Kaitlyn Smatavicius and her seven great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Sabina Randall (Jack), Sylvester Yantzi (Betty), Elwood Yantzi (Nancy), Erna Flatt, Reta Schmidt, Freda Swartzentruber, Wayne Yantzi (Ruth) and Marlene Ziegler (Roy). Predeceased by her brothers, Laverne Yantzi, Ernest Yantzi, Wayne Yantzi and her brothers-in-law, Ken Bender and Bill Flatt. Laurene was a talented artist and was the owner of Ceramics Unlimited which she operated with her beloved husband Vern for many years. Friends will be received at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa Street South (at Westmount Road) from 2-4 and 7-9 today (Tuesday). Funeral Service in the Chapel Wednesday morning at 10:00. Interment at East Zorra Mennonite Church Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
