- Lichti, Harold - Passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at Victoria Hospital, London. Harold resided in New Hamburg and was born 69 years ago in Wilmot township. A son of the late David Fannie (Bender) Lichti. Harold was a member of the Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg.
Beloved husband of Elsie (Gerber) Lichti, who he married June 7, 1958. Loving father of Debbie and husband Tim Zehr of New Hamburg, Denise and husband Doug Greenway of Guelph, Tom and wife Liz Lichti of Kitchener, Paul and wife Tracy Lichti of New Hamburg. Dear Grandpa of Nicole, Ryan and Samuel Zehr, Katie, Philip and Danielle Greenway, Colter, Skyler and Nigel Lichti, Taylor and his friend Christl, Jacob and Joseph Lichti.
Harold is lovingly remember by brothers and sisters, David and Mary Ann Lichti of Listowel, Ferne and Hardy Loewen of Calgary, Alberta, Arbutus of Ron Sider of Philadelphia, Pa., Wayne and Dorothy Lichti of Elmira, Nyle Lichti and his friend Joan Miller of Chatsworth, D'Arcy and Sylvia Lichti of Orangeville, Stephen and Linda Lichti of New Hamburg.
Harold is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers in law, Mildred and Ken Lichti of Tavistock and Harold and Anne Gerber of Wellesley, as well as by aunt, Mary Ann Ruby and many other aunts and uncles.
Harold was a member of the Optimist Club of Tavistock and enjoyed gardening, golfing, and playing cards. Visitation at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg today (Friday) from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday 2-4 and 7-9. A family burial service will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2004 at 19th line, East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. followed by the memorial service at Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Jan Steckley and Pastor Henry Regehr officiating.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lung Association of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
