Notes |
- Minnie Alberta Mickus
On Friday afternoon, December 13, there passed away one of Elmira's estimable young ladies after a short illness, namely, Minnie Alberta Mickus, second youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Mickus, at age of 21 years, 6 months and 5 days. She was born in Pilkington Township, on June 8, 1897, and came with her parents to Elmira last spring. She has since been employed in the Elmira Rubber Factory. She was somewhat of a reserved disposition yet amiable, cheerful and sociable, and endeared herself to a large circle of friends. About two weeks ago she was stricken with an attack of influenza, which developed into pneumonia, and in spite of the Doctors' skill and care of her most intimate friends, she passed away. She was a consistent adherent of the Evangelical Church, a member of the Sunday School and Y. P. A. and was very much interested in the church and its welfare.
The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon, interment taking place in the Union Cemetery. The services were in charge of Rev. G. F. brown.
She leaves to mourn their loss, her parents, two sisters and one brother.
