- Mrs. Peters Passes Away
On January 31st, 1917, there passed to her eternal reward, after a long and fatiguing illness, Mrs. James W. Peters, in her 43rd year.
The deceased was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. With her husband and young family she came to Canada in the spring of 1906. A year after their arrival they came to Wallenstein where Mr. Peters purchased a home where the family have since resided. As a woman she was endowed with a genial disposition and was intelligent and upright of character and was highly respected by those who enjoyed her acquaintance. She leaves to mourn her loss, a sorrowing husband, two sons and a daughter. The eldest son, William, enlisted with the 118th North Waterloo battalion with which he is now on transport overseas.
The funeral service was held at the residence on Saturday afternoon, Rev. A. L. McIntyre, Presbyterian Minister at Hawkesville officiating. A very heartfelt discourse was listened to. The bereaved, particularly the neighboring women folk for their kind help during the illness and at the decease of Mrs. Peters. Interment thence followed at Hawkesville Cemetery. Words expressive of neighborly sympathy are being spoken in behalf of Mr. Peters, in the loss of a living wife. - C. H. B.
