  BATTLER, Ewart S. - Peacefully, at Freeport Hospital Health Care Village, with his family at his side, on Sunday, Feb. 13, 1994, following a lengthy illness, Ewart Battler, formerly of Rosemount Drive, Kitchener, age 84 years. Mr. Battler was a longtime employee for 34 years at J.M. Schneider Inc. before retirement. He was an active member of Stanley Park United Brethren in Christ Church, where he served as Sunday school teacher, Superintendent of Sunday schools and was a Deacon. Beloved husband of Beatrice (nee Becker) for 55 years; loving father of Brenda Litt, Cheryl Honsberger, both of Kitchener and Dennis Battler of Toronto; of Ross and his Florence, and his wife brothers Bernice, Ivan and his wife Betty, all of Kitchener, Reg and his wife Evelyn of Listowel, Bertha and husband Bill Auckland of Ancaster. Sadly missed by two grandchildren, Dana Honsberger Toronto and Travis Honsberger of Kitchener. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He WAS predeceased by his parents, Ervin Battler and the former Lucinda Bock; a sister, Ethel and two brothers, Elmer and Lloyd. Friends and relatives may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, this evening (Monday) from 7-9 and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Wednesday, transfer will be made to Stanley Park United Brethren in Christ Church, 9 Dreger Ave., Kitchener for funeral and committal services at 2 p.m., with Rev. Bob Cotie officiating. Private interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau. Reception to follow at the church. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Stanley Park United Brethren Church or the Parkinson Foundation, would be gratefully acknowledged.
