    • Shupe, Elmer (Harley) - Peacefully, on Tuesday, July 22, 1997, at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, Harley Shupe, aged 76, of 60 Nithview Drive, New Hamburg. He was a son of the late Harvey and Elma (Becker) Shupe and predeceased by his first wife, Edna Mikel Hoppe. Beloved husband of Viola Kropf-Shupe and loving father of Donna and her husband Ken Geroge, Grace and her husband Ron Rockel, all of Kitchener, Verna and her husband Harold Schweigert of RR 1, Shakespeare. Ever remembered by seven grandchildren, David, Ryan and Mark George, Dan and Janine Rockel, Tonya and Brad Schweigert; dear brother of Rae Shupe and his wife Martha of Ottawa, Margery Harding of Kitchener, Adrienne Shupe of Stratford and Doreen Aljoe of Burlington; also survived by a sister-in-law, Helen Shupe of Mount Forest. He was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Percy and two sisters, Margaret and Ella May. He was an employee of Bell Canada for many years prior to retirement and is presently a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He as an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kitchener. He had served with the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War and was presently a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 538) Tavistock. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, today (Thursday) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Friday, July 25, 1997, transfer will be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kitchener for the service at 2 p,m.. with Paster Eric Reble officiating. Burial to follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kitchener.
