- Louis J. Newmaster - Louis J. Newmaster, 83, of RR 1, Linwood, died Thursday at K-W Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Mornington Township near Poole, June 9, 1879, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Newmaster. He farmed near Linwood for more than 50 years and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Linwood. Surviving are his wife, the former Olive Lanz, whom he married Jan. 12, 1904, at Millbank; two sons, Arnold of RR 1, Linwood and Gordon of Baden; a daughter, Mrs. Lorne (Idella) Rieck of Kitchener; a brother, George of Kitchener; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Schade and Mrs. Louis Pfeffer of Kitchener and Mrs. Bertha Schmidt of Milverton; four grandchildren and one great-grandson. Two sisters and a brother predeceased him. The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Sunday when removal will be made to the church for service at 3: 30 p.m. with Rev. A. L. Wedman officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Linwood.
